THE two important junior matches held last nigjht (Wednesday) produced two draws with the bif derby at Keir's Park, failing to produce a goal.

The earlier downpour made Keir's Park very slippery and the result was that the respective defences dominated as the front players struggled to make too much of an impression.

Both 'keepers had to be on the alert at times but a draw was a fair result.

Meanwhile at wet Moorside Park the top two both benefited from drawing 1-1 as the other unbeaten side, Dalkeith Thistle, lost at home to Arniston Rangers.

Dundonald Bluebell and Jeanfield Swifts have been rattling in the goals so far this term but the very wet pitch made life difficult for teh strikers.

However, Swifts took the lead in 35 minutes and when the home side's Mark Forbes was sent off early in the second period for collecting a second yellow card the hosts were up against it.

However, they stuck at it and late on Scott Lawrie hit the equaliser but these two have now been joined on ten points by Lochee United who beat Montrose Roselea at home.
