THE Super League and East Premier League teams are going into today's games having experienced mixed fortunes on Wednesday night.

Kelty Hearts got the defence of their title up and running with a 2-1 win at Sauchie.

An early goal from Paul Currie lifted Hearts' spirits but Sauchie are a good side these days and they levelled in only 14 minutes.

However, before the break Calum Smith got his first goal for the club and the Maroons held the lead for the remainder of the game to get their first three points on the board.

In a dramatic game at Boness Hill of Beath Hawthorn were two up in the opening stages with Rikki Dair and Brian Breen netting and they held that advantage at the break.

United pulled one back in the second period and then squared things with a spectacular shot but Adam Moffat's penalty conversion restored the Haws' lead.

Things looked good for the visitors but two late goals gave Boness a 4-3 win.

In the Premier Dundonald Bluebell faced Kennoway Star Hearts in a Fife derby and Calum Young scored a first-half treble to put Dundonald in the driving seat.

Star got one back in the second-half but the visitors held on to stay top of the table.
