The Grand Slam darts competition took place on Saturday with the top 32 seeded players from the Premier League taking part. Throwers were split into eight groups of four in a round robin format.

After some superb darts in the group stages, the following results were from the last 16 stage: Colin Hunter 6 - Paul Scott 1: Jimmy Gay 6 - Alan Small 4: Stewart Rattray 6 - Liam Mitchell 2: Ian Cochrane 6 - Pete Naughton 0: Alan Candlish 6 Brendyn Donnelly 4: Colin Feeley 6 -Colin Hepplewhite 1: Paul Griggs 3 - Stevie Mitchell 6: Kev Feeley 5 - Colin Millar 6.

Quarter final results were, Colin Hunter 3 - Jimmy Gay 6: Stewart Rattray 6 -Ian Cochrane 2: Alan Candlish 6 - Colin Feeley 4: Stevie Mitchell 1 - Colin Millar 6: These results set up two mouth watering semi finals, with Stewart and Alan both winning 6-2. The final was a nip and tuck affair before Stewart broke Alan to lead 5-3, Alan broke straight back but Stewart took the next leg for a 6-4 victory and became the first Grand Slam winner.
