COWDENBEATH FC have added a further two Modern Apprentices to its playing squad, bringing to seven the number of full-time players currently on young footballer apprenticeships at Central Park.

Jamie Sneddon (17), is a goalkeeper who has been on a part-time contract at Cowdenbeath since his release by Hearts in the summer, having previously been a regular with the Hearts youth teams.

Jamie has recently been turning out for the Cowdenbeath Under 20 Team in the Development League and has been on the first team bench since the departure of Thomas Flynn. Jamie resides in Edinburgh. Josh Wilson (17) is a midfielder, who since the summer has been combining his schooling with day release training at the Club, and has convinced manager Jimmy Nicholl that he is worth a full-time contract. Formerly a youth player with Raith Rovers, Josh resides in Glenrothes.

Manager Nicholl said, “We have had the boys in since the summer, training with the first team squad, and both have convinced me that they are worth full-time apprenticeships.

“We now have seven young footballers in at the club full-time. They are currently playing mostly for the Under 20 Team, but some have already made the first team bench. If they continue to learn, work hard and develop as footballers, there is no reason why these boys cannot be first team players in the future.
