COWDENBEATH United held their annual presentation event at Hill of Beath Club where the youngsters from 7 to 11 years-old were recognised for their efforts over a 10 month season.

The event also celebrated the move from Cowdenbeath United to Cowdenbeath Community Football Club, a partnership that will bring about a close relationship with Cowdenbeath FC.

The event saw all children presented with impressive trophies and there was also recognition for the 2002 and 2004 teams for the successful Fair Play awards that were received at a national 7-a-side tournament held at Craig Tara in South Ayrshire.

There was a special appearance form Bluebell the Coo, the Cowden mascot, who was on hand to present the 2007 children with their trophies.

While Cowdenbeath FC’s very own Lewis Milne and Liam Callaghan spent hours chatting with the children before handing out the trophies to the 2003, 2004 and 2005 year groups, who loved every minute.

Gordon Anderson, club chairman greatly appreciated the two Cowden players appearing at the event and making the day extra special for all the children who are part of the club.

“This is has been another fabulous season for the club as we continue to grow in numbers, offering worthwhile and enjoyable football experiences for youngsters in the local community,” he said. “The link established with Cowdenbeath FC will allow the club to strengthen further and offer increased opportunities. All teams, from our 2002 to 2007 age groups, will be wearing the Cowdenbeath strips displaying the club crest and this exciting move will further boost Cowdenbeath FC’s community links and offer great incentives for all the players in our youth set up.
