Cowdenbeath 1, Raith Rovers 3.

SPFL Championship Attendance-1216 ANOTHER poor home performance as Raith Rovers consigned Cowdenbeath to their second successive home defeat.

Without skipper John Armstrong and defender Kenny Adamson the Cowden defence was never really comfortable at Central Park on Saturday.

There were some chances for the home side but really the midfield was found badly wanting in this game.

Over the piece Cowden were outplayed and could have no complaints about the result.

The early stages saw little real creativity from either side but on the half hour a long ball saw home skipper for the day Nat Wedderburn outpaced by Mark Stewart who fired an unsaveable shot past Thomas Flynn.

The big defender had to limp off with Thomas O'Brien going on and Chris Kane dropping back to centre-back.

The second-half saw Cowden do a bit better for a spell and O'Brien tested Raith 'keeper Ross Laidlaw with a long range effort and another Cowdenbeath sub, Craig Johnston, also went close.

But in 71 minutes came the second Raith goal when Stewart sent over a cross from the right and the unmarked Lewis Vaughan headed home and then seven minutes later a 35 yard wind assisted free-kick gave Rovers a three goal advantage.

In time added on Lewis Milne fired in Cowden's goal off the underside of the bar but it was too little too late.
