LOCHGELLY High School S1 footballers were selected, from extra curricular training sessions, to compete against schools from across Fife in the Dave Garland Memorial Trophy at Glenrothes High School. Lochgelly got off to a great start, remaining unbeaten in all matches and winning the group stage.
Pupils showed great resilience in the next game against Inverkeithing HS, coming back from two goals down to tie the game in the final seconds.
This proved pivotal as the team won the tournament on goal difference, with Lochgelly scoring one more goal than second place Inverkeithing.
The boys were a real credit to themselves, working hard for each other all afternoon to bring the trophy back to school.
