THE Happy Lands was the name of a film which starred local people and now a football team has been started up in Lochgelly bearing the name.
The new club is catering for under 21 players and they are busy recruiting for the coming season for the Moor Park side.
Martin, who is organising the new side said, “Youth football stops at U19 in Fife so we want to act as a bridge to adult football and many boys are not ready at 18 years-old and as such are lost to football altogether. “The idea for the name came from the film and many of the mining themed photographs on the Lochgelly Past and Present group on Facebook. We are a new club and many keen players outside Lochgelly don’t know we exist. We are currently looking for players from the Central Fife area born in 1994/5 and 93.
“We train and play at Moor Park in Lochgelly on Tuesdays and Thursdays with games on a Saturday and we play in the South East Scotland League. Any lad who wants to play can call me on 07833617667.”
