CARDENDEN Colts FC is a newly developed football club aimed at children and young people and offers Development football for children between the ages of 5 and 11 and Youth football for those aged 11 and over.

The club applied for funding from Fife Council’s Local Community Planning Budget to help them get started and they are delighted to announce that the application was successful.

Club Secretary, Brian Wilson, said, “This is fantastic news; now the real hard work starts and we are determined we can make a success of it and give the kids of Cardenden the experience that they deserve.

“On behalf of the committee, players, coaches and parents I’d like to thank Fife Council officers and elected members for this much needed support.” The club is affiliated to the Scottish Youth Football Association and registered with FFDL for 7 a sides and CEFSSA for 4,5 and 7 a sides. They are currently signing players before the new season gets underway.

Councillors Mark Hood and Councillor Linda Erskine, members of the Lochgelly/Cardenden ward, paid a visit to the club to watch the children going through their paces and were very impressed with the commitment displayed by all associated with the club.

The club trains every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6.30pm until 8.00pm at Wallsgreen Park, Cardenden, and will welcome any children and young people to go along and join in.
