Hill of Beath Hawthorn 2, Kennoway Star Hearts 2 (Haws win 7-6 on penalties).
NORTH Division Kennoway gave Hill of Beath Hawthorn a tough game in this DFT Fife and Lothians Cup-tie at Keir's Park last night.
Up for grabs was a quarter-final spot and Star clearly were not fazed by taking on a Super League team.
They gave as good as they got until the 35th minute when Ross Allum fired the hosts ahead.
But seconds from the break Star levelled and then a penalty decision gave them the chance to take a shock lead but it was missed and with 15 minutes left Aaron Hay put Haws in front.
But Star would not lie down and a spell of pressure saw a James Adam own goal take it to penalties.
The excitement rose with both sides showing good finishing and eventually Haws won 7-6 to book a last eight tie with Ballingry Rovers..
