Dundonald win this midfield tussle.

FROST played havoc with Saturday's junior card with only one local fixture beating the low temperatures.

Dundonald Bluebell took advantage to stretch their lead at the top of the Central League with Moorside being given the green light after a lot of hard work from the Bluebell committee.

Dundonald Bluebell 3, Luncarty 0.

CENTRAL League strugglers Luncarty never gave up against table toppers Dundonald but finished a well beaten side.

The park was inspected by club officials at 9am and was showing signs of improvement and by the time a second look took place at 10.30 it was starting to look a real goer.

The match referee had an inspection and decided it was playable and the game opened with Dundonald in charge of the ball for long spells.

Luncarty were well drilled in defence and they made some strong challenges to keep Bluebell at bay but the breakthrough came in 24 minutes.

A good home move saw the ball played to Stewart Cargill who steadied himself before firing a low shot past the 'keeper.

The Luncarty last line pulled off several very good stops as Dundonald seemed to lack a bit of fire power without Shaun O'Neill, but they got the second in 32 minutes.

The Perthshire cover was cut open by the Bluebell attack and Derek Wallace picked his spot with a low drive into the corner of the net.

Luncarty seldom threatened the Dundonald goal in the first period but they were still in the game at the start of the second period.

However, Bluebell were keen to score more goals and when they got their third in 50 minutes everyone expected the floodgates to open.

Jay Stein did the spadework and his cut-back to Steven Forbes was perfect for him to net number three.

But the expected goalrush never came. Bluebell mounted raid after raid but a mixture of good goalkeeping, good defending and bad finishing saw the visitors stay in touch.

Shots rained in on the Luncarty 'keeper but he stood defiant and when the final whistle came it was still 3-0.

However, that is now four consecutive shut-outs for the Moorsiders and they are four points clear at the top of the table.
