Aerial action from the Keir's Park derby.

SATURDAY'S junior card saw Kelty Hearts emerge with the bragging rights from the East Super League derby at Keir's Park.

Elsewhere there were fine wins for Lochore Welfare and Crossgates Primrose while Dundonald Bluebell maintained their league challenge and Ballingry Rovers, under new management ended their barren run.

Hill of Beath Hawthorn 0, Kelty Hearts 1.

IN what turned out to be a stormy match Kelty held on for a well earned three Super League points.

The opening stages were pretty even as Hearts and Haws met for the first time this year but in 25 minutes the visitors took the lead.

Scott Lawrie picked up the ball in midfield and fired an unstoppable 25 yarder which screamed into the net.

After that Hearts had another couple of chances through Thomas O'Brien and Craig Morrison and at this stage there was no sign of the discipline problems that were to show later on.

Haws had a good chance to level before the break when Lee Morrison shot over from very close in.

The first dismissal came in 60 minutes when John McCulloch was ordered off for a tough tackle on Tam Courts and shortly after Craig Morrison and Darren Wright were sent off after a scuffle.

Barry Smith went close for Haws and then Stephen Bathgate 's appeal for a penalty was turned aside after a hard tackle on the striker.

Haws finished the game strongly and Bathgate headed over before the home side's Ricky Dair got his marching orders to leave the home side with eight men.

Ballingry Rovers 3, Kinnoull 3.

AN East Premier League point for Ballingry Rovers who parted company with manager Archie Wyse last week when he returned to East Super League team Glenrothes.

Lee Dair took on the job with the assistance of Alan Archibald, the former Cowdenbeath stalwart, and the pair took charge for the first time against second top Kinnoull at Ore Park.

And Rovers, who have been in a bit of a rut recently, responded with a good performance and scored three goals into the bargain.

Craig Smart fired them ahead in five minutes to give them the perfect start but Kinnoull managed to square things after 20 minutes.

On the half hour John Fraser fired in Ballingry's second and the Ore Parkers received another boost when 'keeper Kevin Smith saved a Kinnoull penalty and then James Adam was unlucky to see his shot hit one post and then run along the line and strike the other upright before coming back out.

Leading 2-1 at half-time Rovers started the second-half well and Smart's solo effort put them two up but Kinnoull kept working away and were rewarded with a second 13 minutes from time.

Still it looked a home win until five minutes into time added on the referee awarded Kinnoull a second penalty after a tackle in the Ballingry box and this time the Perthsire side levelled things up.

Dundonald Bluebell 2, Kirkcaldy YM 2.

CENTRAL League challengers Dundonald Bluebell blew a two goal half-time lead against fellow leading side Kirkcaldy YM.

The first-half belonged to Dundonald as they created chance after chance and they took the lead in 18 minutes when a long throw by Martyn Thomson set up the chance for Derek Wallace who scored from close in.

Dundonald had more good openings and both Thomson, Wallace and Graeme Mills should have added to the lead.

However, three minutes into the second period Gordon Brown fired in Bluebell's second but strangely it seemed to galvanise YM.

With twenty minutes to go Kirkcaldy pulled one back and then with ten minutes left they grabbed the equaliser with a well placed header.

It left Bluebell hanging on for the draw which they achieved with a good defensive performance.

Lochore Welfare 1, Oakley United 0.

LOCHORE Welfare made it four Central League wins on the bounce with this success over title favourites Oakley United at Crosshill.

Welfare opened the game well and took the lead in ten minutes when Craig Paterson's pass put Brian Donnelly clean through and he cleverly fired the ball home.

Oakley responded with a series of attacks and Welfare 'keeper Craig McMaihin had to make several good saves to give his team an interval lead.

The second period saw Oakley continue to monopolise the ball and they continued to create good chances but McMaihin and his defensive mates continued to shut them out.

John Ferguson went close to stretching the Lochore advantage but in the closing minutes it was all Oakley and the home cause was not helped by the sending off of Scott Penman, but they battled on to complete the double over the West Fifers.

Crossgates Primrose 1, Lochgelly Albert 0.

STRUGGLING Lochgelly Albert made Crossgates Primrose have to fight for the Central League points at Humbug Park.

It was the first outing for the new Albert management team of Ross Kinnell and Greg Sinclair and in the first period Lochgelly were as good as their opponents.

Stevie Brown went close for Lochgelly but the home side had their chances too and at the interval no scoring was a fair reflection.

In the second-half Primrose started to look more assured and in 65 minutes they got the breakthrough with Brian McKay scoring.

Brown continued to be a threat for Albert and he went close again but Crossgates kept mounting some good attacks which Albert had to work overtime to keep out.

It was three good points for Crossgates which maintained their march up the table.

SATURDAY'S fixtures, East Super League, Kelty Hearts v Bonnyrigg Rose, Hill of Beath Hawthorn v Boness United (2.30).

East Premier League, Carnoustie Panmure v Ballingry Rovers (2.30).
