THE ProStocks were back on track at the Lochgelly Raceway on Friday night and it was great to see HRP’s three representatives from last week’s British Championship held in Northern Ireland back on their home track in the shape of former champion Tam Melrose, Dougie Kidd and Jordan Cassie.

This session of racing saw plenty of drama with the end of the ProStocks which caused plenty of discussion.

Lochgelly’s own Grady Ross claimed the win ahead of Cassie and previous final winner Rab Moore from Halbeath.

Dougie Kidd took the win in heat two with Moore posting another excellent result with second place with heat one winner Ross in third.

The final was marred by an incident which saw Moore attacking the car of Melrose on the infield and attempting to push him back into traffic – there is no place for that type of behaviour on any track.

Kidd repeated his race-winning exploits from heat two as he took the feature final win ahead of Ross and Ricky White. The next meeting for the ProStocks at HRP Lochgelly Raceway is a big one as October 3rd sees the European Championship being hosted at Scotland’s most-modern short oval motorsports facility in support of the huge National Micro Banger World Cup event.

The Superstox were the fourth and final formula on show this past Friday night at HRP Lochgelly Raceway and a very healthy turnout of cars arrived to do battle including Barry Stephen with his newly-painted silver roof to denote his status as National Points Champion.

The first heat saw Dundee’s Lee Livingston take an excellent win ahead of teen sensation Lewis Willacy and Barry Stephen.

The second heat saw Chris Miller claim yet another win in his new for 2015 machine ahead of Allan Gibson and Bryan Forrest.

The feature final started in spectacular fashion as the star grade got stuck in with the bumpers flying everywhere. As the race settled down into a pattern; Lee Livingston took full advantage to streak ahead of the field and claim his second win of the night with another recent Ministox graduate Aaron Riddell taking a fantastic second place ahead of recent final winner Paul Mackie.

The Superstox return to action at HRP Lochgelly Raceway this Saturday September 19th just seven days prior to their World Championship which will be held at Aghadowey raceway in Northern Ireland. The formula has seen a recent influx of new drivers and machinery and, with forty drivers now registered, the formula is going from strength to strength.

A cracking night of racing was completed in good time and credit must go to all drivers, teams and staff for an entertaining night of action.

The next stock car meeting at HRP Lochgelly Raceway takes places this Saturday September 19th and features the 2.0 Hot Rod Scottish Championship plus a National Hot Rod World Championship Qualifying Round. The Superstox, CC Rods and Ministox round out a five formula, fifteen race spectacular this Saturday night from 6pm at HRP Lochgelly Raceway.
