COWDENBEATH boss Gary Bollan has made two more very significant signings.

One of them is securing goalkeeper David McGurn's signature for another season and the other is capturing a man who played a big role in Stenhousemuir winning promotion from Ladbrokes League 2 in the promotion play-offs at the end of the season.

Mr Bollan was very pleased to confirm that David Marsh on Wednesday put pen to paper to sign on the dotted line for Cowdenbeath.

Last season, David was part of Stenhousemuir’s promotion winning side and prior to that he played with his home town club Clyde for a number of years. David is aged 28 and plays at centre back, albeit in his time with Clyde he was often deployed in midfield.

David thus has a wealth of experience gained in the SPFL to offer and is greatly looking forward to a new challenge at Central Park.

Cowdenbeath’s signing activities continued apace and Mr Bollan was delighted to announce that Dave McGurn had signed on again for the Blue Brazil for a third season.

Dave, of course, is a vastly experienced goalkeeper and opponents will readily attest to his goalkeeping prowess. He continues to maintain a high standard between the sticks and has consistently been a first class performer over many years.

Said Mr Bollan: "David produced some excellent performances last season, none more so than in the first leg of the play-off at Cove.

"He is a top level performer and just the sort of player we want to have aboard for the new season."

He added: "I am very pleased to get David Marsh and we offer him a very warm welcome to Central Park as we move towards season 2018/19.

"He played a strong part in Stenny's promotion push last season and he will do well for us in the coming campaign."

But the manager underlined that he is still looking for new players with the right quality and he hopes to have more to report this week.

Meanwhile the winner this month of the Cowdenbeath Bonus Ball Lottery was Geordie Graham, who picks up the £450 first prize.

No. 3 was the lucky number for Geordie. At this time all numbers are taken so there are none available

On season tickets director david Allan reported that sales commenced midweek and there has already been a healthy level of activity coupled with a number of donations to Club 135.

And on Thursday night an informal meeting was held with a group of fans and a number of ideas and initiatives are being followed up.
