Hearts cruise into King Cup final
Kelty Hearts 8, Leith Athletic 1.
KELTY easily made the final of the East of Scotland King Cup on Friday night by overcoming Leith.
Star man was Stuart Cargill who added yet another hat-trick to his collection of goals for Hearts.
Kelty made a good start to the semi tie at New Central Park and Ross Philp added another to his tally with a good finish and as Athletic started to find the pace a problem Brian Ritchie hit number two.
Leith mounted a couple of dangerous raids and in one of them pulled a goal back but there was no denying the home side and before the break Cargill and Philp stretched the lead to three goals.
With the sun starting to to down Hearts kept pounding the Leith goal and Cargill made it 5-1.
The prolific Hearts front man completed his hat-trick and then Errol Douglas got in on the goal scoring act with a fine finish to make it 7-1.
Leith were completely out of the picture now and a strike from Douglas completed a pretty easy evening's work for Hearts.
