Raith Rovers 20s 3, Cowdenbeath 20s 0.

THE Cowdenbeath youngsters were still looking for their first win of the season after going down to the Rovers in the Fife derby at Stark's Park last Tuesday night, writes Andy Mullen.

The Rovers broke the deadlock with 23 minutes gone when Bell advanced into the Cowden box and laid the ball off to Court who crossed to Yaw OSEI who tapped the ball home from a few yards out.

Cowden matched their hosts for the remainder of the first-half but found chances on goal few and far between and Blair Penman saved a long range effort from Court while a Osei shot on the stroke of half time grazed the crossbar.

Six minutes into the second half Currie saw a shot saved by Brian in the Rovers goal but two goals in the closing 14 minutes sealed the points for the Kirkcaldy side.

Jack SMITH had replaced McLeod-Kay and within a minute he got on the end of a Court cross to shoot over the diving Penman from six yards.

The Rovers sub then got his second goal of the night with four minutes remaining when Valentine chipped the ball into the Cowden box and SMITH once again beat Penman from six yards.
