CARDENDEN Primary School Gymnastics Club held their first ever in-house competition during the last week of term.

It was a huge success and coach Melinda Fleming was so pleased to see many parents and carers go along to support the event.

Said Melinda: "The club has only been running a short while, but already we are seeing a vast amount of talent and effort from the young gymnasts and appreciate the financial support given from the Parent Council for new equipment".

In the Primary 4-5 category, Amy Scott took 1st place, Chelsea Graham 2nd and Tiegan Beveridge 3rd. The Primary 6-7 category saw Chanel Innes take 1st, Skye Hunter 2nd and Nadia Osmalek 3rd.

There was a small fun competition for some of the young attending gymnasts and Freya Ross and Betty Fleming tied 1st, with Annalise Fleming 2nd and Ebony Heggie 3rd.

Chanel Innes also achieved an award for most dedicated gymnast and Isobel Aktah-Dobson won the award for Most Improved Gymnast.

Added Melinda: "All the gymnasts competed to a very high standard."
