THE week beginning April 17, gave the strong talent which they are lucky to have at Beath the chance to shine - and were actually involved in four finals.

In addition to the boy’s Senior and S1 football teams, which were reported on in a separate article last week, the girl’s football team and senior netball team were also in action

The girl’s football team were very unlucky in their final against Balwearie HS.

In a game that they absolutely dominated possession and chances, they simply could not put the ball in the net. It seemed impossible to consider anything other than a Beath win until Balwearie scored from a penalty. Miss Differ, their coach, said she was proud of her girls – they simply couldn’t have been any more committed and couldn’t have tried any harder. "It just wasn’t our night. The girls from Balwearie were very warm in their congratulations at the end of the game – even going so far as to say "the better team should have won – and didn’t". I am certain you will all agree when I say the girls at Beath are truly talented and deserve all the praise they can get"!

Two nights later Beath hosted all the Fife Netball finals. In the senior final at the end of a very exciting evening our Senior Netballers took on the girls from Woodmill HS. It was a tough game and the girls were up against real quality opposition. They fought hard to the end but it is fair to say Woodmill were deserving winners.
