COWDENBEATH bowlers visited close friends and neighbours at Crossgates on Saturday and it was a good game, writes Jack High.

The green played well as did some of the Cowdenbeath contingent. Unfortunately Margaret Heenan was one of them but she was playing for Crossgates!!

Alan Walker welcomed Mitch Drysdale at the start of the day.

Scores were as follows: (Cowdenbeath rinks first) M Drysdale 9 A Walker 14, R Reekie 7 C Allan 17, D Leitch snr 10 D Jones 17, D Leitch jnr 18 D Park 19.

A comprehensive win for Crossgates with all four rinks up.

Alan Walker, during the speeches mentioned something about away shots counting double so agreed it was a draw....

A nice meal was served with some lovely pastry. Unfortunately King Alfred assisted with cooking them which set off the fire alarm and had the fire service in attendance!

The highlight of the day was the raffle - when somebody from Cowdenbeath had their first win.... Tour next week but a bounce game at Cowdenbeath for anyone not on tour.
