THERE was a Cowden-Gelly athlete among the winners when Disability Sport Fife competitors went on the run at the East Cross Country Series recently.
Round three of the competition, which brought together pupils from schools across Fife, the Lothians and Perth, took place at Kirkcaldy's Beveridge Park and one youngster from Lochgelly High was in fine form.
Louise Harley was one of 17 athletes who entered races over a 2k distance in individual sections, and came out on top in the S4/S5/S6 age category.
She was the sole Central Fife winner on the day that saw a total of 111 athletes - 90 of which were from the Kingdom - with additional support needs register for the event, which was organised by DSF and Fife AC on behalf of Scottish Disability Sport and Scottish Athletics.
Fife AC, who provided race officials, were the only club athletes to take part and participants will now move forward to the final race in the series, which takes place at Peffermill, Edinburgh, next month.
