Raith Rovers 20s 7, Cowdenbeath 20s 0.

IT was another tough learning curve for the Cowdenbeath youngsters at Stark's Park as they went down to our third successive league defeat against a Rovers side which contained five over age players.

The game was only five minutes old when Yaw Osel cut the ball across the face of the visiting goal for Euan VALENTINE to slot home from close range.

Cammy Muirhead then saw a shot blocked before OSEL got on the end of a Lewis Vaughan cross to slot home at the near post with just six minutes on the clock.

After the early set backs Cowden came back into the game for a spell and Muirhead was put through on goal by Henderson but his shot was blocked by Brennan.

However, with 33 minutes gone Rovers went further ahead with Jamie WATSON firing home from 15 yards.

Three minutes later the Blues went further behind when VAUGHAN went on a solo run and chipped the ball over Donoghue.

VAUGHAN then got his second goal of the night with 48 minutes gone when he got on the end of a Coustrain cross at the near post to slot home.

Four minutes later it was six when Vaughan turned provider for Chris JOHNSTON who beat two defenders before rounding the 'keeper to score.

The scoring was then completed with 71 minutes gone when OSEL got his second goal of the night with a shot from just inside the box.

With five minutes to go Cowden almost grabbed a consolation when a Sutherland shot was palmed to safety by the diving Brennan.
