The second half of the Scottish stock car season kicked off at Lochgelly on Saturday with a five formula, 16 race programme.

The Ninja Karts were back in action first as the traditional whites and yellows race got proceedings underway.

Methil’s Jase Walle took a fine win ahead of Evie Black and recent debutant Kyle Johnstone.

The first heat saw British champion Charlie Hardie take victory with European champion Declan Honeyman coming home in second place ahead of Bailey Millar.

Heat two saw Harry Robertson fend off Charlie Hardie and Millar and the final heat went to Anstruther’s Scott Allardyce who posted a fantastic win ahead of Robbie Armit and Millar.

In the National Hot Rods it was the first of 12 World championship qualifying rounds. Lochore’s Billy Bonnar took the first heat win ahead of world finalist Roy Anderson and Tam Rutherford.

Bonnar also won heat two ahead of Anderson and Lochgelly debutant Steven Armit. The final saw Bonnar take a faultless hat-trick of wins with Anderson second and Armit in third.

In the Ministox on Saturday there was a large influx of visiting drivers from England.

National champ Dan Santry proved his fondness for the Lochgelly circuit in heat one as he claimed victory ahead of fellow English visitors Tony Elbourn and Charlie Santry. Heat two took a while to get going as several restarts were required before Santry crossed the line first with younger brother Charlie in second and Jacob Bromley in third as the Scots failed to make the podium.

The feature final was another fantastic race from the 11-16 year olds and, once again, Dan Santry came through the chaos to take victory with Charlie Santry in second and Anstruther’s Dylan Sim in third.

The 1300 Stock Cars have had a bruising time of late and damage, suspensions and holidays saw a low turnout of cars.

Lochgelly’s own Euan Mathieson took the win in heat one ahead of Peter Low and Andrew Mathieson.

Scottish champion and National Points champion elect Callum Barclay took the win in heat two as Low had to settle for second again with Jason Secker coming home in third. The final saw Low finally claim top spot with Andrew Mathieson and Jason Secker rounding out the podium spots.

The Superstox are on the countdown to their World Championship at Lochgelly, the big one is just weeks away, and at the weekend a good grid of cars arrived to do battle. The first heat saw the front bumpers flying and it was Bryan Forrest who claimed victory ahead of Scottish champion Stuart Gilchrist and Tony Lattka. The second heat saw Lanarkshire’s Gilchrist return to victory lane with Aaron Riddell in second ahead of National Points champion Barry Stephen.

The final saw the Thomas Michie Memorial Trophy up for grabs and it was Gilchrist who stormed to the win ahead of a very much on-form Riddell and defending trophy holder Tony Lattka.

This time of year often sees the destiny of many championships decided and Saturday will be no exception as Lochgelly hosts the CC Rods Scottish Championship.

The raceway's own low budget, non-contact class have been in tremendous form and they'll compete for their biggest title with the 1300 Stock Cars, Stock Rods and ProStocks providing the support from 6pm.
