KELTY Hearts officially opened their revamped Central Park home with a match against Heart of Midlothian.

The Fife Jambos welcomed their Edinburgh counterparts to their sunny stadium last night and then turned them over 2-0.

A Scott Dalziel double gave Thomas Courts' side the victory against a Hearts XI in front of a large crowd including former Scotland boss Craig Levein and Fife Provost Jim Leishman.

Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Alex Rowley, accompanied by Kelty councillor Alex Campbell, performed the ribbon cutting ceremony while the Kelty and Blairadam Pipe Band produced their own fine display on the pitch.

A new 4G artificial pitch was laid at Central Park in October, as part of the £7.3 million Kelty Community Centre project, and the club has also built two new stands.

The pitch is already a hit with the community and is widely used by youth teams, Kelty Primary School and members of the public.
