THIS past week was the start of the external competitions involving Lochgelly Bowling Club.

The BABBS Seniors kicked-off with Lochgelly 1 beating Nethertown 18-12 while Lochgelly 2 lost out to Townhill 16-10.

Wednesday was the Ladies league team that took the green playing away to Broad Street Bowling Club which ended in a draw 2-2.

In the Fife competitons Triples A. Bowers, S Bowers and Jim McGuire won and the Rink was eliminated due to a scheduling error.

Friday was a big day for the young P6 Bebowlers, as their finals were held at Kelty. Congratulations are in order for the youngsters from the West End Primary that won the competition. They beat St Pats from Lochgelly in the final. LBC is proud of all the teams that we sent to the finals as all the teams played well. Big thanks to all the members that donated their time to teach the youngsters about bowls.

The Top13 also started on Friday and Lochgelly locked horns with Headwell and eneded in a 6-6 draw.

Saturday we visited our friends from Cowdenbeath for a friendly match. Final score was Lochgelly 85 Cowdenbeath 69. Skips scores were : A. Mitchell 13 L King 11, A Bowers 22 P Graham 19, A Glasgow 20 R Cant 14, M Mitchell 15 Charlotte 13, A Muir 17 B Simpson 12. LBC would like to thank Cowdenbeath for a day of fun, and a special thanks to the ladies in the Kitchen for the great meal.

Sunday saw the Mens Top 10 team travel to Bonnyrigg for the Inter County playdowns. Unfortunately, the Team was knocked out at the first hurdle.
