A LOCHGELLY teenager is becoming a very good footballer.

Chloe Clemison (13) started playing the Beautiful Game when she was only six with her brother and since then she has got better and better and has now signed for Celtic Ladies.

Chloe, from Bishop Avenue, explained this week that she has always enjoyed kick-abouts but when she joined Lochgelly Albert Colts in 2007 it was then the serious stuff began.

She said: "I was part of the boys team and I really enjoyed the games and it was good to get results and it was then that I knew I wanted to develop my skills.

"I played for the Albert Colts until 2012 when I was asked to join Raith Rovers and enjoyed playing for them until just a few weeks ago Celtic asked me to train with them and then join them."

Apart from success with the Albert Colts and Raith Chloe has regularly taken part in the

the John Thomson tournament in Cardenden and made quite an impact.

In 2013 she gained four accolades, most promising player; best senior player; best midfield player; and best female player. Then in 2014 she took the best female player award.

In 2013 Chloe was also Raith Rovers player of the year in 2013.

The 13 year-old also trains twice a week with the Scottish regional squad so perhaps it is no surprise that her talents have come to the notice of the Celtic scouts.

She plays for Celtic U14s on a Saturday and against St Mirren scored

twice from midfield so she also has an eye for a goal.

Chloe, who has been handed number 7 jersey in the Celtic 14s squad explained that she likes playing wide on the left hand side of midfield and despite the hard work of tracking up and down the park, loves it.

"I like playing wide and while it can be hard work at times you can get some good chances":she added.

"I want to do well and if I keep working hard you never know what the future could bring."

And aware of the significance of number 7 to Celtic fans with famous winger Jimmy Johnstone and leading marksman Henrik Larson wearing it, she wants to work hard to live up to the billing.
