I AGREE with the letter ‘Benarty Lochore’ sent in about the speeding from South Glencraig through Crosshill, Lochore into Ballingry.

I am a resident of Lochleven Road and the speeding is just getting out of hand.

As far as Lochleven Road is concerned, it is a death trap from Lochore Miners Institute.

You have the surgery where cars are parked at each side of the road, cross if you dare. It has a pelican crossing but there is still speeding there, then up the road we have the mini market, the butchers and the Co-operative, where cars are parked both sides and cars parked round the corner in Loanhead Avenue.

Moving on up Lochleven Road we have Benarty Primary then we have a garage with cars parked on the road and then we have Benore Care Home, who have cars parked on the road outside the home.

Lochleven Road is the busiest road in Benarty and is like a race track at times.

I have witnessed cars mounting the pavement many times because they are speeding and they are confronted with traffic coming towards them at the telephone exchange and the primary school.

If nothing is done about this speeding we are going to have a fatality on our hands.

We have the buses, big low loaders with machines on them and all the other transport that passes through on this road.

I see they are putting a speed bump on Station Road, Lochgelly, at the primary school.

Why not put a couple at Benarty Primary School, after all there are speed bumps right round Ballingry Road.

So why not Lochleven Road? So what are the councillors going to do about it? Wait until some kid gets knocked down or some old age pensioner gets knocked down on their motorised scooter because some person is speeding?

The school signs show 20mph but these are ignored, more like 40-50mph.

I would like to see a roundabout at the Co-operative, a speed bump at the telephone exchange, a speed bump in between the school and a speed bump at the old police station.

So come on you local councillors and MPs, get your fingers out before we have a fatality.

WORRIED RESIDENT, Lochore.
