I WOULD like to relate, through your paper, to the wonderful help I have been receiving from a lady in your town.

Eight months ago, I lost my husband, and was inconsolable. I contacted Maureen (Kennedy) at Identicat Scotland, after my GP recommended I do so.

She was helping me through a loss so great, when another bereavement befell me. With all this going on, I ended up going on to lose my home as well as having to give up my beloved dog, Oliver.

Things were so black, and impossible to see any way out, I even contemplated suicide.

But thankfully, having contacted Maureen so early with all these ills, she never gave up on me, helped not only with the depression side, but with more physical and practical things as well.

She managed to get ‘time’ for me to get a mortgage sorted out, and I now have a payment scheme, in progress, to enable me to stay in the only home I knew.

The problems I had with my beloved dog, again I thought could not be solved, without further loss, but this was not to be.

I cannot say enough about this unique lady’s gift and talents, of being able to really ‘see’ people’s problems and emotions.

More importantly, of following up, all she helped and did for me, there is so much I wish I could say about Maureen, but it would only lead others to abuse her free services.

Throughout all these months the costs incurred were high, very high, yet Maureen paid for it all, in costs incurred, saving me more worry and giving me the precious gift of ‘peace of mind’.

I have never in my life known anybody who went to such lengths, in the speediest of times, to safeguard my wellbeing, and ensure that all my problems were being solved, at the same time.

So can I take this opportunity to thank Maureen at Identicat for all the caring action and trusting she gave me. Note these three words spell CAT are the ending of her title.

Identity: Caring: Action: Trust: = Identicat. I never realised before what the title meant. Now I do, with all my heart.

She never made false promises, like so many others did. She always did what she said she would do, and most importantly of all, always followed up each problem, quickly.

I do so wish I could say more but this lady has touched my life like no other could. It is a miracle she can help so many, with so many different problems, not just in her own area, but all over the country and abroad.

I have learned about her activities recently from others, who like myself were changed by her natural caring.

So Maureen, you are indeed an ‘angel in disguise’ and I want you to know, just how much you changed my life for the better, and how you have made me see things for the better, now in a different light.

Like others, I will never forget your sacrifice and all your efforts, in reaching out to help so many.

Do not be angry with me for writing to this paper, but I want people to know who and what you are. A walking miracle.

May the good Lord bless and keep you safe and strong in the future and in all your endeavours.

JOYCE BAILLEY, Mid-Lothian.
