I FEEL that the every effort should be made to ensure that the Youth Shelter at Lochgelly Public Park remains in place.
It has got a bad name in recent years as being a place where youngsters gather and get up to mischief with broken glass being strewn around.
But the fact is that this is a feature which gives kids a meeting point and has a colourful look to it.
Yes there has been a few problems but these can be ironed out with a bit of effort from the authorities.
The fact is that the Shelter is a place where the community wardens and police know youngsters will be, especially on the long summer nights.
So I think Mark Hood is right. The people who have called for the removal of the Shelter are wrong and it must remain.
It is something which has a lot of positive aspects to it and it must stay.
SHELTER SUPPORTER, Lochgelly.
