PEOPLE should go along to the community exhibitions next week and find out what the possibly controversial plans for a wind farm on the outskirts of Lochore Meadows Country Park are about.

At first glance the thought of such a facility near a country park is bound to raise the hackles of opponents of wind farms.

However, the Hilton Wind Farm developers, Amec Foster Wheeler, say that it is their intention to give the surrounding communities the chance to own one of the six turbines with the financial benefits that could bring.

Invevitably the thought of six turbines near the Meedies will alarm many people and rightly so, however, before people decide to go against the plans they should get all the information in front of them.

This week exhibitions are being held in Benarty, Cowdenbeath, Kelty, Lochgelly and at the country park itself.

It is a major project and at the end of the day it is up to the public to make their feelings on it known before it goes in front of the planning authorities.
