ON Friday 6th March I was taking my neighbour’s Lhasa Apso for our daily morning walk in the local park.

She was on her lead. When the little dog stopped for a poo, a large wolf-like dog swooped down and grabbed her by the neck, then as I struggled with the stranger dog, the owner finally arrived and grabbed his animal. I was so keen to get the Lhasa away to be checked by a vet, I left without asking the man his name.

The following day I was telling someone the story of the attack. He said that his dog had once attacked another dog and that he had paid the vet’s bill. He hoped that this man had done likewise.

As a pensioner of limited funds, I certainly would appreciate if he did pay the £61 bill. Needless to say I would also like him to keep his dog on a lead in the park in future.
