WE would like to wish Councillor Peter Lockhart well in his quest to make Cowdenbeath High Street a better place for our customers to visit, something we and many other shopkeepers do on a daily basis.

Councillor Lockhart’s first objective should be to keep up to date with the goings on within the High Street, for example the Chocolate Shop has changed hands, and Kassy’s Kitchen would like to wish the Cake Fairy best wishes on her new venture.

Better signposting for the toilets at Brunton House has been promised by every councillor in the town for at least three years, good luck with that one champion.

Seating outside cafes etc., most of us have applied for said seating areas whether outside the front of premises or behind, and we have all been knocked backed losing money and custom in the process. HOW are you going to reverse these decisions, champion?

Truncating the High Street, who are you going to ask to move premises to suit your idea? Which end are you cutting out? Is our Champion for the High Street or against, I wonder?

We are bravely carrying on through the recent road works but the mind boggles at the amount of money being spent on resurfacing the roads when the pavements are an absolute disgrace and a Health and Safety hazard at best. Don’t you agree Champion?, as the cosmetic side of the High Street, is clearly on your mind.

Once again we say good luck and hope your ideas for our much loved High Street are not a lot of hot air and false promises of which we’ve all heard before, and are still waiting to be implemented.
