DOES anyone know whatever happened to the metal gates which stood at each end of the ‘Auld Geig, in Lochgelly’?
The Geig is a public right of way which joins Launcherhead Road to Cartmore Road and the gates were installed with the generous assistance of a European grant.
The removal of the gates has allowed irresponsible motorists’ access to the pathway forcing pedestrians on to the litter-strewn verges and the potential for accident is heightened during hours of darkness.
The sooner the Council takes steps to ensure the replacement of the gates the better.
CAROL BAILEY, Lochgelly.
