FIFE Council is claiming to be allocating £407,000 help to people for discretionary housing benefit, the wording implying the Labour administration is supplying this money.
In fact the Scottish Government gave Fife Council £1,039,616 to fund discretionary housing benefit (DHP).
This was also supplemented by £693,077 from Department of Work and Pensions.
In September they were also awarded a further £1,732,693 from the Scottish Government towards DHP benefit, in total they have received £2,960,544 since April 2014.
The Scottish Government is providing money to all the councils in Scotland to offset this unfair tax on the poor which the Labour Party refused to vote against by abstaining on the second vote to abolish it!
