OUR Jury members were quite right to be very upset at Lochgelly being nominated for the Plook of the Plinth Award.

Now, while they are a group who are very proud of Lochgelly, it is not blind loyalty that is leading to this stance.

They were quick to point to the investment programme which will be going into full swing in 2015 which will see a new look to the central part of the town.

When you add the RockGelly project, geared to revamp the former St Andrews Church building, there is indeed plenty of positives happening in Lochgelly for the New Year.

The Plook of the Plinth Award winner will be announced in a few weeks time but no one in lochgelly is losing any sleep over it.

It is unlikely that it will come to the town and even if it does it is hardly something that is going to effect the changing image of the former mining burgh.
