YOUR story two weeks ago about the millions of pounds of investment coming to Lochgelly was a real good news item for everyone in the town.

I had heard bits and pieces about some of the projects that were going on but did not know the value of them.

I would say that everyone of them will, over the next 18 months, have a major impact on the way that Lochgelly is seen by the rest of Fife.

The St Andrew’s Church RockGelly project allied to the construction of the new housing area near the Town House, will transform the centre of the town.

It has been needing some TLC for some time and this will provide it while the improvements at the public park are something that has been long needed.

The park is a fine green area but the inclusion of a new football pitch, instead of the ash park, and a new children’s play area will be a big improvement.

The work at Lochgelly High is much needed for the football pitches have been past their sell-by date for some years.

This will be a timely improvement to the community use facility at Lochgelly High and will improve the recreation provision in the town.

To add to all that is the extension at the Sunflower Nursery so it is an exciting time for Lochgelly and will give the town a well timed boost.

£6M MAN, Lochgelly.
