It was with amazement that I read the letters in the paper today. What were the committee thinking about to sign the course away only for the lease a new one. Is it not time that Lochgelly Golf course Committee and the developers had a meeting to tell everyone what is happening instead of having us read it in the paper. The course is worth a lot of money to build on and any new course should be in the ownership of the club not the developers.

At the public meeting when they sought the mandate from the members I understood we would own the course and the new facilities. That was what the mandate was granted on. If that is not the case then the developers do not have the authority to proceed with any discussions. The agreement should be on view in the clubhouse for the members to see.

We were promised a new course on the east side of Lochgelly not a shared council course that will always be owned by the council. The committee must remember that they are there to serve the membership and for the good of the club and not themselves, as it appears that the majority of the committee are being kept in the dark as to what is happening and decisions being taken by individuals.

The council also seem to be willing to disregard the wishes of the members and people of Lochgelly. Councillors start doing what you were voted on for and listen to the people and fight to keep the golf course in Lochgelly. You were voted on and there are always other people standing at the next elections.

Remember the course belongs to us the members.
