After reading about the latest spate of vandalism at Benarty's football park, I thought I'd bring to your readers' attention, some more mindless attacks by these unwelcome visitors.
Launcherhead Park, home to Lochgelly United Amateurs and four Lochgelly Albert Colts kids teams, has been attached several times over the past year.
The list is long but to give you an idea, we've had, three broken windows, dozens of roof tiles smashed, most of the guttering and every downpipe broken/removed.
Buckets have been set on fire, signs ripped from walls and we arrive to every home game to several broken bottles and urine covered walls and slabs. The water pipes burst and flooded the facility during the Christmas break and all teams are currently working very hard to raise the funds to refurbish the buildings. This would be made a lot easier if we could stop these people causing more damage.
We are told that we have more 'bobby's on the beat' nowadays and we have the community wardens .... but I don't think Launcherhead Park is covered in their travels!
Also, a little message to everyone who walks their dogs at the park: Please pick up your dog's droppings.; We had to pick up over 20 dog's droppings before our last game.
GERITSORTED, Lochgelly
