So Councillor Ross Vettraino is excited by two Cowdenbeath businesses signing up to the Fife Council Comfort Break Scheme.
A public house at the south end of High Street and a cafe in the middle have volunteered to get involved but how many more will come forward.
You see I am not sure if we will get many more putting their hands up for it is a scheme which has hardly caught the business community's imagination.
Councillor Vettraino talks about council facilities such as the refurbished town house becoming a member of the scheme when it re-opens but we are some way off before that happens.
Also what he fails to see is that previously everyone knew where the public toilets were in Cowdenbeath.
Now we seem to be going to have a system of conveniences but unless you know your way about the town you will not know which business is the one which you can use apart from a small sign on the door of the businesses taking part.
You see I suppose the Comfort Break Scheme might offer some attractions to businesses by getting people through the door but when they swing in to spend a penny and then go on their way again maybe the attraction will wear off.
The fact is that a town the size of Cowdenbeath should have its own public toilet facilities.
Yes there may be a short term interest in the Comfort Break Scheme but will it stand the test of time?
