Further to the letter from David Taylor, Newsletter Editor, Cardenden, is he going about with his eyes closed or is he too busy writing in his diary to see the "real Cardenden".
Fair enough, there have been many changes to Cardenden over the years but I am not surprised the village was nominated for the Carbuncle Award.
If he takes a good look around with his rose coloured glasses off he will notice that the Main Street, where the shops are located, is like a shanty town especially at night when the shutters are all closed.
But we will all just look up at the hanging baskets and that will make us feel a lot better.
Maybe he should look closer to home, has he actually looked around Woodend Road?
There is an old garage which is in dire need of demolition, the Jamphlars pond was to be cleaned out which did not come to fruition and the burn which runs along the golf course is a health hazard.
However, we will all just sit and listen to the "Goth Clock" chiming or will we listen to the lorries trundling over the useless car bumps?
I have lived in Cardenden for over sixty years and while the people in the village are wonderful the surroundings leave much to be desired.
DISGRUNTLED, Cardenden.
