Criticism was a little unfair

So Councillor Willie Clarke says that people have been prisoners in their own homes due largely to the failings of Fife Council.

Also fourteen grit bins were empty. It's lucky they actually had grit bins as we've nothing.

However, I feel his comments on the council's handling of the situation were unfair.

Why couldn't people on the dole clear paths? Or the people who have to get their Methadone? They always take priority in the pharmacy.

Now the postmen are getting in on the act complaining they could have slipped and people would be quick to moan about not getting their mail. A pity, because we actually supported them when they came out on strike.

Just for the record, I happened to see a gritter, yes Councillor Clarke, unbelievable I know, but personally if I had been the chap driving, I would have refused to do any more because the verbal abuse directed towards him was ridiculous and it wasn't even from youngsters.

This is not the first year we've had bad weather and performing an 'Autopsy' on the roads and pavements after the snow has gone is ridiculous, but I suppose it gives people something to do.

If it happens again as I'm sure it will, then when people go to sign on, present them with a shovel each. Perhaps you could find out if the council has enough money in their budget for this.

ICE ROAD TRUCKER.
