I must say that the large building constructed in Main Street as part of the regeneration programme is impressive.
The six retail units and the 12 flats really stand-out at you and when you add the new residential home nearby these two projects, and the redevelopment of Berry Street, have made a big difference to this part of the town.
While The Opera House was an imposing building on Main Street for many decades it had seen its day by the turn of the millennium. And the Broadways public house was a major eyesore to say the very least.
When the business centre development is complete this part of the town is going to have a a real fresh look to it.
You know when you think back Main Street really was in need of an upgrade.
Remember, where the much talked about statue is now was the site of the former Queen's Arms Hotel which had a pretty chequered history.
These buildings were desperately needing to go and certainly the new town square is a bright place whether or not you agree with the statue's design!
The business centre project could be a really important cog in the regen machine as it may not only bring a freshness to the town but also some badly needed jobs.
It has taken time but the regeneration of Lochgelly is making progress and remember, Rome was not built in a day.
REGEN MAN, Lochgelly.

If the small store at FabTek is to be built, I doubt these units will be filled by retailers, as many suspect the small store at FabTek will close down our Main Street shops
