As a local postman I was appalled both by Fife Council and the public.

First by the council for not gritting the pavements at the start of the heavy snow - which became ice - and the public for not clearing their paths.

They expect their mail but it appears they are not interested in getting the snow and ice from the paths.

Around 90 per cent are just too lazy to help make it easy for their postman, it is usually the older people in the town who clear their paths certainly not the younger generation.

Several postmen have slipped over the past few weeks due to ice on the paths which in a lot of cases is right up to the doors.

If we had stopped deliveries to these people it would cause an uproar, so please think about it.

Surely it is not asking too much to get a shovel out and clear a path for your postie.

DISGRUNTLED POSTIE.

PS. In some cases we use their driveways but these are just as bad.
