Last dip for loony dooker?

Comments (0) | Print | Email

I've tried to retire from loony dooking, but when a friend asks who is all going in at noon on New Year's Day, then adds that she'd love to join in but is terrified of water what does a true friend say?

Oh I know the answer to this, she says, after a few moments hesitation I hasten to add, "I'll chum you in".

So very easy to say when your friend's sister is only 49 and being nursed by the Macmillan nurses at this very moment in time. Linda and I are going into The Forth Estuary at noon on January 1st 2010 for Yvonne, and for everyone else affected by Cancer.

So, once again I'll be in the Loony Line Up for the 2010 Langtoun Loony Dook along with many others all rallying to the call to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause.

Nowadays everyone is aware of the admirable work being done by the MACMILLAN NURSES; this charity deserves to be supported. Please consider sponsoring a Loony Dooker. A sponsor form is now in Lochgelly Library.

A big thank you to all the seasoned dookers who have agreed, once again, to take part. To all the new names on my list welcome aboard and I hope you will feel exhilarated and thrilled after the dook.

Don't worry about the apprehension beforehand, it passes the minute the waters hit you!

ANN BAHLAJ, Lochgelly.
