On behalf of Lochore Welfare Junior Football Club I refer to your recent article in relation to Meedies Neuk which appeared in the Central Fife Times, unfortunately we believe that you have been a little misled on the information provided by Ian Sneddon Developments Ltd.
We indicated some considerable time ago to Mr Sneddon that we supported his development of the Meedies Neuk pub but took issue with his initial plans which offered an access to his development over the roadway owned by the club and allowing access to the club"s car park.
Mr Sneddon"s title did not offer him the rights to submit his planning with the access over our roadway. In addition his plans appeared to encroach on to the car park to the rear which is owned by the club.
We asked that the plans be re-appraised and re-issued dealing with these issues. The process involved engaging a qualified surveyor to properly measure both areas of ground and defining the boundaries of each area.
Mr Sneddon agreed to revise his building warrant application and planning permission plans and submit them to the local authority and to the committee of the club for approval. Unfortunately the plans were not approved and at present Mr Sneddon has approached the club to negotiate a right of access over our roadway and a right to occupy part of our car park in relation to the demolition of the site.
Our duty as a committee is to the club members and to protect the club"s property.
As an implement of that duty we require Mr Sneddon to execute a proper legal agreement covering his use of the car park and liabilities for any damage caused to the club"s property. In addition we require a proper legal agreement to be executed in relation to the access road owned by the club to ensure that the members and the members" property is clearly protected while the development is built and the boundaries of the members property is clearly protected by use of the future owners in the development.
It is therefore incorrect to say the club is holding up Mr Sneddon"s development. His development in fact cannot proceed at all without the club"s support which has been offered subject to the appropriate agreement being reached to protect the club"s property and the interests of the members.
BRIAN MENZIES, vice chairman Lochore Welfare JFC.

we need to get this situation sorted and get this project underway. even if its just the fact that the building is demolished. it is a constant eye-sore and a permanent threat to the well being of the young children that use it as a playground
