SO it appears Labour Councillor Gary Guichan wants us to believe that the whole proposal for the park and ride daily charge was in fact part of drawn-out ingenious master plan and by going along under the pretence that charges were imminent, Stagecoach would be under pressure to step in at the last minute and thrash out a deal with Fife Council to share the running costs.

If that truly was the case, it was a rather imprudent and reckless strategy and would appear the administration at Fife Council simply got lucky on this occasion.

Furthermore, Cllr Guichan's letter to Central Fife Times last week tells local residents everything they need to know about him, his politics and his priorities.

He would much rather use this platform to have yet another feeble pop at me, my colleagues and my party rather than apologise to commuters for ignoring and disregarding their concerns and for causing them months of stress and anxiety.

He could've even praised Stagecoach for stepping in with a decent and fair deal.

But regardless of any perceived political posturing, the true victors are in fact the local residents and commuters and I for one am incredibly pleased for them.
