IT was with a huge degree of disbelief that I read comments from Cllr Darren Watt claiming credit for himself and his Tory colleagues around the deal between the council and Stagecoach on the costs of running the Park & Ride sites.
He is trying to claim the credit for the deal when in fact if the council had gone with the Tories idea and not introduced the plan then the council tax payers in Fife would still have been left picking up the full cost of running the two sites.
By proposing the charges Stagecoach have come forward and reached a deal with the council on sharing the running costs, if we hadn't proposed the charges, as the Tories wanted, this deal would never have happened.
A strange twisting of the facts from Cllr Watt, but after all he is a Tory.
