I WAS amazed to read in the Times that Lochgelly Youth Theatre are to celebrate one year of entertaining the people of the area this month.

It just does not seem that long since they started up but it is brilliant that they are following up their performances of Hairspray and Fame with this birthday show at Lochgelly Centre.

I was at both these shows and it was unbelievable the talent that was on the stage in both of them.

May I say that in a really short space of time young Liam Nardone has done an amazing job in moulding these young local artistes into a great theatre group.

He has a real future on the stage but then so has many of the Lochgelly Youth casts of these two shows.

Lochgelly Youth has shown the excellent levels of talent being produced at Lochgelly and Beath High Schools and hopefully both Kelty and Lochgelly Musical Associations can benefit from the work that is being achieved by this theatre organisation.

While the birthday show is not a musical as such I am sure that it will be as good as Fame and Hairspray and the singing and dancing will be of the highest quality.
