I SINCERELY hope that the young mums group in Cardenden are successful with their fundraising because it is sad to see the playpark beside Cardenden Primary School lying totally empty.
A few years ago this was a playpark that was enjoyed by many young children but alas not now.
Bit by bit the equipment has been removed as it gets older and kids are left with nothing to have fun on.
It paint's a bleak picture, especially in the weather we have been experiencing with the sun shining brightly but no playpark to entertain the kids.
Hopefully the Playparks Group will be successful in raising the money for the equipment to replace what has gone.
They have been working hard by holding a lot of fundraising events but I was told that it will cost upwards of six figures to bring life back to this important part of New Carden.
Hopefully they will be able to get the grants that will be needed to make up the shortfall between what they have raised and the necessary total and the children in this part of Cardenden will not have to wait much longer to have fun again in the playpark.
