BRIAN Menzies deserves the utmost credit for outlining a lot of the tipping problems in Benarty.
Some of the pleasant green areas are simply left in a mess by people who seem desperate to throw stuff anywhere.
This is something that is not unique to the villages of Glencraig, Crosshill, Lochore and Ballingry, but at a time when millions of pounds have been invested in the area it is surely wrong.
The new park centre and golf club house have hardly been opened and the Fife Cycle Track is about to be opened but we have people dumping old fridges and old building materials not many yards from a facility which will be bringing a lot of visitors to the area in the coming months.
The thing is that the Cartmore Industrial Estate Recycling Centre is just half a mile up the road yet they want to dump it in the countryside rather than take it to where it should be deposited.
What you do to stop the illegal dumpers I do not know but it is time something was done.
TIPP-OFF,
Crosshill.
