WHILE things are looking awkward on a number of fronts for Cowdenbeath FC I believe there is a lot to be positive about.

The board was right to not wait to air their concerns about funding streams for the Blue Brazil.

Since Gordon McDougall sold Cowden and Central Park to the Brewsters almost ten years ago, it has not been easy to replace the revenue that came in from the stock car rental.

The thing is, under Mr McDougall, the whole set-up was well run and he always aimed to ensure that the businesses were operated in parallel and supported each other.

Since he left the football club has suffered a bit from finding good revenue streams and the Club 135 concept is to be applauded.

It is winning support from all sorts of sources and has galvanised people to look at how to raise funds.

Meanwhile manager Gary Bollan has been working hard at piecing together a side that can do the business on the park after the squad at the start of the season being a bit bare of quality.

So while it may well be the play-offs, as long as players can avoid injury and suspension, Cowden should have enough firepower to survive and then a proper structure of a team has to be built for next season.

BLUE BRAZILIAN,

Kelty.
